Quantum Commissions
Commissioning a big piece takes a long time and a lot of resources (time, money, effort, etc.). As a fan of comic art I was inspired by the practice of convention commissions where you find an artist you like and pay a small fee for them to draw and ink a unique piece of art in a set time. Original, unique art, you see the process happen, and the whole arc takes place right there.
Quantum Commissions are my version of this: a short solo piece that I'll write in one hour. It costs $100 and the usual turn-around is a few weeks to about a month. Simple, straightforward, and new music accessible to just about everyone. It could be for oneself, a gift, or part of a series (like if someone wanted three linked pieces as a little set).
In some cases I'd be happy to write for a duo ($150) or a trio/quartet ($250). If you're interested, get in touch via my contact form.
Quantum Commissions (running list)
5. Curio for solo viola - Wilhelm Magner
4. Logue Trope for soprano and mezzo-soprano - Rose Hegele and Page Stephens
3. Caprice Quantique for solo saxophone - Nathan Mertens
2. I Shall Not Care for solo voice - Page Stephens
1. Hijinks for solo cello - Adam Riggs
