Dennis Sullivan was born and raised in Wadsworth, Ohio.  He began as a percussionist at the age of eight and made an appearance with the Cleveland Orchestra for their "Percussion Festival" at the age of 16.  From 1999-2001, he studied with Dr. Larry Snider.  From 2001-2005, Dennis attended the Hartt School of Music where he studied with Benjamin Toth, former member of the Percussion Group Cincinnati.  During this time, he collaborated with composers such as David Macbride and Russell Podgorsek.  In 2004 he won first prize at theVan Rooy Competition for Musical Excellence and the Al Lepak Award.  Dennis is currently a Master’s student and teaching assistant at SUNY-Stonybrook where he studies with Eduardo Leandro.


Russell Podgorsek, violist and composer, is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music (CT) and the University of Dayton (OH) where he studied composition with David Macbride, Larry Alan Smith and Phillip Magnuson. He was recently commissioned by the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra (MD) to write his "MicroSymphony" and by Cambrian College (ON) for his "Lament and Lullaby" for string orchestra. Some of his latest premieres include "Duo Concertante" by the Irrelevants in New York and his "Sinfonia Concertante no. 2" by the Hartt School Wind Ensemble under Glen Adsit with harp soloist, Annabelle Taubl in Hartford.

Russell is a founding member of the Miklos Quartet, whose unique approach to music of all styles and perspectives has brought them on numerous tours of the Northeast and Midwest. He was also recently featured in Canada performing solo and chamber works with violist Jamie Arrowsmith including the premiere of part of his "Sinfonia Concertante no. 1" and a new piece for viola solo. In February of 2006 his "Four Songs" was performed in Maryland by tenor John Wesley Wright and cellist Jeff Schoyen. As a member of the perceval duo he performed a number of his own works including "Songs for the Sane" and "A Contest for the Future" at 2005's Woodstock Fringe Festival in Woodstock, New York. He has been awarded a number of grants and fellowships including a Creative Connections Award (formerly Meet the Composer).
